Engineering Notation is a type of Scientific Notation that only uses powers of ten that are multiples of 3.

So 10

Examples:

• 2,700 = 2.7 × 10

• 27,000 = 27 × 10

• 270,000 = 270 × 10

• 2,700,000 = 2.7 × 10

So 10

^{3}, 10^{6}, 10^{9}etc, and 10^{0}, 10^{-3}, 10^{-6}, 10^{-9}etc, also.Examples:

• 2,700 = 2.7 × 10

^{3}• 27,000 = 27 × 10

^{3}• 270,000 = 270 × 10
