Indeterminate

Several definitions:

• An indeterminate is another name for a variable.

• An indeterminate equation has many possible answers.

Example: x + y = 2
If we pick x=1, then y=1 works (1+1=2)
But if we pick x=0, then y=2 also works (0+2=2)
There are lots of combinations for x and y that make this equation true!

• An indeterminate expression cannot be precisely determined.

Examples:
• 0/0
• 0⁰
• 0 × ∞
• ∞/∞
• ∞ − ∞
• ∞⁰
• 1^∞
