Yield

Yield
How much money an investment makes, usually per year as a percent of the total investment.

Example: you invest $100 and it makes you $6 every year: the yield is 6%

Example: you own some shares in a company, the shares are currently worth $250 each, and paid $5 this year. The yield is $5/$250 = 2%
