Multiply by Repeated Addition
We can multiply by repeated addition!

Example: we can think of 3 × 4 as:
3 groups of items...
...with 4 items in each group.
And these all give the same answer:
- 4 + 4 + 4 = 12
- 3 × 4 = 12
- 4 × 3 = 12
This is the basic idea behind multiplication of whole numbers.
